The funeral service for Mary Jeannette Warren, affectionately known as “Nett,” was held on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at 2:00 PM at Williams Chapel, located at 3520 County Road 19, Greensboro, Alabama 36744. The Reverend Frank Cox officiated.
Mary Jeannette Warren was born in Greensboro, Alabama, on July 20, 1961, to parents Roy Warren Sr. and Louise Hoskins Warren. She was a product of Greensboro Public Schools and graduated from Greensboro Public High School in the class of 1979. Nett’s love for people led her to Livingston University, where she studied and earned her degree in nursing. She also found another love while attending college, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated, and she was a proud member of the Xi Delta Chapter.
Nett was employed at the Southland Nursing Home as a registered nurse. Nursing was her passion. She advocated for her patients and made a profound impact on their lives with the connection she made with them. Nett was the person who could light up the room and make everyone feel like family. She enjoyed spending time with her family, which included a lot of time playing with her grandson, Jaxston. Her other interests included reading, cooking, canning, baking, dancing, watching classic films, and shopping. She absolutely loved a good episode of ‘The Twilight Zone,’ but what she loved the most and brought the biggest smile to her face was seeing her grandson hit a home run.
On the morning of July 11, 2024, Mary Jeannette Warren passed away at Druid City Hospital at the tender age of 62 years old. Nett is predeceased by her parents, Roy and Louise Warren Sr., her sister Nancy Middlebrooks, and her brothers Roy Jr., Randy, and Gregory Warren. She will be missed every day by her daughters, Shakondra Warren, Shakristal Williams, and Zeleidra Aldridge, who she was extremely proud of, and her grandson Jaxston Warren. She leaves to cherish her memory siblings: Jeraldine (Joe) Martin, Claudine Rochelle, Alfred (Mary) Hoskins, Katie Warren- Rice, JoAnn Atkins, Brenda Kilow, Rodney (Jamie) Warren, Ronnie Warren, Cedric Warren, Dedric Warren, and Lisa Warren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
