Jessie James Conner, born January 3, 1952, passed away on November 3, 2023, at the age of 71. A lifelong resident of Eutaw, Alabama, Jessie was a member of Starlight Temple Holiness Church where he served until his health declined. Remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and an avid Alabama football fan, Jessie’s acts of kindness and generosity left a lasting impact on his community.
He is survived by his wife, Jossie Ann Conner of Sawyerville, Alabama; sons, Jessie Pasteur of Acworth, Georgia, and Leonardo Pasteur of Florence, Alabama; daughters, Deborah Pasteur and Marilyn Terry of Sawyerville, Alabama, and Jeanette Anderson of Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Jessie also leaves behind six sisters, Willie Pearl Garrett of Cincinnati, Ohio; Mary Hogan of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; Rosie Hogan, Mattie Logan, and Vinnie Thomas of Greensboro, Alabama; and three brothers, Matthew Conner of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and Curtis Conner of Cleveland, Ohio. His legacy continues through his fourteen grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 2:00 pm at New Pentecostal Church, Greensboro, Alabama, with District Elder Lovetta Long-Pastor and Pastor Jessie Pasteur officiating.
