A single-vehicle crash that occurred at approximately 10:45 p.m. Monday, Sept. 4, has claimed the life of a Buhl man. Christopher L. Scruggs, 47, was critically injured when the 2001 Suzuki GSX1300R motorcycle that he was operating left the roadway and struck a metal gate. Scruggs was transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased. The crash occurred on Pate Road, approximately three miles south of Buhl, in Tuscaloosa County. Nothing further is available as Troopers with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division continue to investigate.
