Milton Ward “Dick” Holley, Jr. age 81 of Tuscaloosa, AL. passed away March 10, 2023 at Hospice of West Alabama. Services were held on Monday, March 13, 2023 at 3:00 pm at Antioch Baptist Church in Greensboro with Rev. Arthur Thomas and Dr. Curtis Kelley officiating and Magnolia Chapel South directing. Burial followed in the church cemetery. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service at the church.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Milton Ward Holley, Sr. and Sara Dunham Holley.

Survivors include his wife Debbie Thomas Holley, daughters; Dawn Crawford Hoggle, Leslie Ann Holley, grandchildren; Savannah and Cody Hoggle, and Brayden Wightman, and his cousin Carolyn Knight (Bob).

Dick was born and raised in Selma, Alabama. Following high school, he went straight into the United States Navy. He served on the USS Randolph Aircraft Carrier until his honorable discharge in 1967. He relocated from Selma and made his home in Tuscaloosa. He began his career with the Alabama State Highway Department and retired after 31 years of service. Prior to his retirement, he began West Alabama Appraisal Service and continued working until just a short time before his death. He enjoyed sharing his life stories with everyone he came in contact with and was loved by so many friends and family. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone in need. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time with his golfing buddies. He missed playing golf over the last several years. He also enjoyed hunting and spending time with his friends at the hunting clubs. His wife, daughter and grandchildren meant everything to him and they adored him as well.

Pallbearers were John Robert Spiller, Joey Hargrove, Mark Burns, Don Turner, Fred Glass, Bobby Massengale, Ed Williamson, Byron Claybrook, Scott Caruthers, and Mike Riley.

Honorary pallbearers were Joy Wilett, Michael Cartee, Crawford Nixon, Tommy Moore, Tommy Seale, Randy Kimbrell, Jim Phillips, John Dee Carruth, Keith Stokes, Bruce Carroll, Ricky Yawn, Mary Ethel O’Day, Danyale Claybrook, Carol Glass, Fran Hargrove, Mandy Massengale, Cynthia Williamson, Barbara Kelley, JoAnn Thomas, Dr. Anand Pandey, Dr. Scott Fulgham, Taylorville Baptist Church, Old Greene County Hunting Club, Broadnax Hunting Club, West Alabama Appraisers Association and Hospice of West Alabama.
