Thomas Charles Gaitor, 72, better known as “T.C.” was born November 7, 1950, to Jennie Lee Gater and Joe Cottrell in Greensboro, AL. At an early age, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was baptized at Greenleaf Baptist Church.

T.C. is a member of the Hale County Training School Class of 1967. In 1972, T.C. joined The United States Marine Corps. While enlisted, he was awarded The National Defense Service Medal. He received an honorable discharge in 1973.

He also was a member of the Disable American’s Veterans.

T.C. departed this life on Sunday, November 27, 2022 in Northport, AL.

T.C. is preceded in death by his mother, Jennie Lee Gater; father, Joe Cottrell; wife, Cathy Gaitor; grandmother, Mamie Lee Gaitor; grandfather, George Gater Sr.; three uncles, George Gater Jr., Henry Gater and Frank Cottrell; aunt, Jessie Lee Harris; niece, Cassandra Gaitor-Harris and sister, Juanita Gater.

T.C. leaves to cherish his memories two sons, Thomas Charles Gaitor Jr. and Patrick Gaitor; three loving and devoted sisters, Dorothy Gaitor of Tuscaloosa, AL, Catherine (Robert) Toeran and Regina Gater both of Greensboro, AL; three aunts, Willie Mae Banks of Greensboro, AL, Mary Alice Cottrell and Katherine Cottrell of Cleveland, OH; three uncles, Gaston Cottrell of Greensboro, AL, Jerry Cottrell and Arther Cottrell of Cleveland, OH; two devoted nieces, Jeanette Gaitor and Shandrilla (Kenneth) Banks both of Greensboro, AL; five nephews, Robert Toeran III, Derrick (Frenchesis) Toeran, Demetri Gaitor, Dewayne Gater and Clauzell Gater all of Greensboro, AL; a special nephew, Demondre (Nikita) Gater of Tuscaloosa, AL; a special cousin, Mamie Gater-Steward of Birmingham, AL; a special cousin-in-law, Rose Marie Gater of Detroit, MI and a host of great nieces, great nephews, other cousins and other extended family members whom will miss him dearly.
