James R. Scott, Sr. died Thursday, Oct. 6 at DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.
Preceding James in death are: one sister, Clara Barker Scott; five brothers: Sylvester Scott, Frank Scott, Johnny Scott, Joseph Scott, and Dwain H. Scott; Two brothers-in-law, Robert Norfleet, Sandy Bennett, Jr., and one sisterin-law, Ruby Nell Bennett. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and committed wife, Dr. Rhinnie B. Scott; five children: Verner Kelsey Smith (Keith) of Cincinnati Ohio, James Scott, Jr. (Nicki) of Chicago, Illinois, Dwayne Scott (Kelly) of Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Whitney Scott of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ashley Monae Scott, New Orleans, Louisiana; one sister, Tammy Thomas of Greensboro, Alabama; three brothers: Bobby Scott (Fannie) of Newbern, Alabama, Dr. Vernon L. Scott, Sr. (Lou Helen) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, and William Scott of Cincinnati, Ohio; a sister-in-law, Janice Scott of Lizella, Georgia; five brothers-in-law: Moses Norfleet (Gloria) of Dunnellon, Florida, William Norfleet (Hattie) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, David Bennett of Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Glenn S. Bennett (Peggy) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Frank B. Bennett (Wanda), Montgomery, Alabama.
Public Viewing/Visitation will be held at Washington and Paige Mortuary in Greensboro on Friday, Oct.14th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will be held at First Missionary Baptist Church, Moundville on Saturday, Oct. 15th at 12:00 p.m. Public viewing repeats from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Burial will follow at Sarah Christian Cemetery in Greensboro, Alabama immediately following the funeral service.
Pallbearers will be former employees of J&R Auto Center, LLC, Greensboro, Alabama – Tommy Scott, Jack Edwards, Dorsey Quarles, Peter Nelson, and Henry Jackson.
