Hale, other counties come together for disaster drill

In observation of National Prepared Month, Hale County EMA Director Russell Weeden led and organized a disaster drill for Hale County and other West Alabama counties last week. Local fire departments, police departments, hospital staff, emergency response teams, elected officials, students, community organizations, and volunteers collaborated to network, learn, and identify ways to help others in emergency situations.

The drill included training and preparation for a variety of emergency situations that local first responders, volunteers, and community members might face.
