Vernon Curtis Fisher, 69, widower of Janice Oakley Fisher, died Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at McLeod Hospice House in Florence.

Born August 8, 1952, in Selma, AL., he was a son of the late Allen Lafayette Fisher and the late Mary Curtis Perry Fisher of Greensboro, AL. He was a 1970 graduate of Greensboro High School West. He was a truck driver for 34 years. He enjoyed karaoke and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

Surviving are five children; Christy Fisher Taylor (Christopher), Vernon Allen Fisher (Roxann), Jennifer Fisher and Kipton Wise; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren; a sister, Mary Evelyn Ferguson (Robert) and a sister-in-law, Sharon Fisher.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Allen Fisher and John William Fisher.

A memorial service was held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 28, 2022, in the chapel of Stephens Funeral Home with Rev. Jay Seal and Rev. Rick Crawford officiating. The family received friends following the service at the residence, 1053 Charles Drive, Manning.

Visitation was held one hour prior to the service from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Stephens Funeral Home.

Honorary pallbearers were David Hatton, John Gorham, Lyrue Driggers, Barry Marsh, Charles Ramsey, Thomas Purvis and Sonny Estes.
