The Akron Public Library presents “A Summer Garden of Learning” for children ages 4 and 5 in the surrounding Hale County area. The program will be facilitated by former educator Lelia Daniel who has experience in early childhood education. Content of the program is designed to teach the basic preparation needed to help young learners engage more effectively in the classroom environment. Students registered will meet on Wednesdays and Thursdays for four weeks in June. To successfully register your child for the program, parents must attend a program orientation on June 7th at 10:00 a.m. at the Akron Public Library. Classes will begin on Wednesday, June 8th and last through Thursday, June 30th. Classes will begin at 10:00 a.m. and end at 12:00 noon. “If you want to nurture your child’s natural curiosity about learning and put them a step ahead, please register your child for the program” said Daniel. Mrs. Daniel specializes in early learning and oversees the Early “Byrd” Learning Center at the Akron Public Library as the Early Learning Associate. “We have been very fortunate to attract such talent to the library. Mrs. Daniel brings a considerable wealth of knowledge in the field of early education. We are grateful she chose to share that knowledge under our umbrella of services” said Eva Greene, Director of Library Services at the Akron Public Library.
