Daniel J. Miller was born September 22, 1933, in Hartville, Ohio and passed away at home in Greensboro, Alabama surrounded by family on April 3, 2022. Because of his faith in the Lord, there was a peacefulness at the time of his death.
Dan was the fourth of 10 children. In 1953, he married Anna Mae Slabaugh with whom he had five children. He grew up in the carpenter trade and then moved to Alabama in 1977. He began a successful aquaculture business in 1982 with his sons, which brought him great joy. He received many accolades for his service and dedication to the catfish industry. He married Brenda Litton Cordell in 2000 whose two daughters joined the family.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Miller, his children, Daniel Miller, Jr. (Sheri), Julia (Roger) Ensz, Tim Miller, Gloria (Mark) Schmidt, his daughter-inlaw Cheryl Miller, and stepdaughters Amber Cordell and Rhonda (Scott) Norman, 22 grandchildren, and 31 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Lydia, his wife Anna Mae, his son Steve, and his siblings Betty, Elsie, Atlee, Joseph, and Jake. He is survived by his siblings Melvin, Benjamin, Verna, John, and Emma.
There will be visitation at the Miller Banquet Hall (9681 Alabama Hwy 69) on Saturday, April 9 from noon to 2 pm followed by a service with Brother Steve Vernon officiating and Kirk Funeral Home directing. Afterwards, there will be a private graveside service. Pallbearers will be Weston Ensz, Austin Miller, Blake Schmidt, Joe Taylor, Joe Goodson, Steve Eicher, Bo Lindsey, and Nick McIlwain.
